Guru Nanak Sahib Ji gave us just this, and now it's time to share it with the world. Following in the footsteps of his legacy of healing through the unstruck sound for emotional and mental empowerment and well-being. We are calling all Kirtanees who are; the everyday individuals, working professionals and students, to share their voices and passion for Guru Nanak's Kirtan this year with the world.
This November 2020 we, Raj Academy, aspire to give 551 Kirtanees the opportunity to be heard, showcase and share their passion for Guru's Kirtan with the wider global Sangat.
The world is yet to hear the true healing power of Guru Nanak's Kirtan as intended for tuning our minds and our lives. If you are a passionate individual who engages in Guru's Kirtan we would love to hear from you!

We invite you to celebrate the beautiful legacy of Guru Nanak and Sikh Kirtan in a way it has never been celebrated before.
We strive to unite together from all corners of the globe with the opportunity to empower, inspire and immerse the wider Sangat in Guru’s wisdom in its truest essence and form.
551 Rababi's for Guru Nanak Sahib's birthday celebrations will come together from all corners of the globe to showcase their passion and gratitude for the role of Guru’s Kirtan in their lives. We would like to provide a global platform for these role models of tomorrow in showcasing their passion of Guru’s Kirtan and become Sikh Music Wellbeing Ambassadors.
This unique opportunity unites together 551 global Rababis from different countries, backgrounds, ages and genders to reinforce that the fact there are simply no boundaries or restrictions given to the Sangat by Guru Nanak Sahib to engage and sing his wisdom, it is an infinite and timeless healing gem gifted to us all.
We are calling out for talented and gifted Kirtanees; who are local individuals from our communities dedicated to sharing and engaging in Guru’s Kirtan for humanity’s betterment, however, may not have had the opportunity or the platform to showcase their passion before. Rababi 551 entails:
All Kirtanees are sharing one Shabd from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
We invite all Kirtanees who play a taanti saaj from the Guru's Court; Rabab, Saranda, Sarangi, Taus and Dilruba.
Your Shabd recordings will be aired on the world's leading Sikh Channel TV, across their social media sites as well as Raj Academy's Facebook, Instagram and Youtube, on partnering press and media, and not lastly presented on a dedicated website to share with the Sangat a valuable collection of 551 Shabds in raag.
Upon shortlisting a training and coaching process will support you in stepping into a role model and ambassador of Guru Nanak's Kirtan.

How does Rababi 551 work?
Below are the phases of Rababi 551 to start getting involved.
Applications are now open!
A shortlisting process will run to select 551 applicants who are ready to proceed to the next Phase.
You will be guided through online sessions by our Head of Support & Training to best prepare you, build your connection to the Shabd and meet other Rababis from your part of the world.
Once your Shabd recordings have been submitted they will be prepared by our team to be used across TV, social media, press and the website.
